Many people I love are no longer here, among them my parents, grandparents, uncle Théo and oncle Denis. Just for today, I’m glad they’re not around to see what’s happening in our world.

Yes. And their generation was keener on not fighting wars than present one, owing to having fought wars … my parents were kids in the 1914-18 and young adults in the 1939-45 (yep dates me I know – they married late owing to war as well) – complicated issue, and expressing hatred back at this not helpful – glad you wrote as you have.
